UST Projector Screen Size Guide: Fit the Wall, Projector and Seats
The right diagonal is the size your room can support without compromising projector geometry, brightness or comfortable viewing.
Start with usable wall width
Measure the width between obstacles—not the total wall. Include trim, speakers, doors and any furniture that must remain. For reference, the current Black Series outer frame dimensions are about 223.4 cm wide at 100 inches and 267.6 cm at 120 inches.
Then check the projector's placement chart
UST projectors need a specific distance from the wall and vertical offset for each image size. Larger images often require the projector to sit farther into the room and can raise the image higher on the wall.
Brightness falls as image area grows
A 120-inch 16:9 image has about 44% more area than a 100-inch 16:9 image. With the same projector and screen gain, that spreads the available light over a much larger surface.
Make the seating distance work for your content
Movie fans often enjoy a more immersive field of view than people who spend hours watching news, sports score bugs or desktop-style interfaces. There is no single diagonal that feels best to everyone.
