UST Projector Placement & Screen Alignment: Get the Geometry Right First
A premium screen cannot rescue a badly aligned UST projector. The optical path is steep enough that small placement errors become obvious quickly.
Centerline before distance
Mark the screen center and align the projector lens/optical center according to the projector's instructions. Horizontal offset creates asymmetrical geometry that software correction can hide but not truly fix.
Level before fine-tuning
Verify the cabinet and projector are level. A slight tilt can move one corner far more than expected because the image expands rapidly over a short projection distance.
Use the projector's size chart, not generic UST advice
Different UST models have different throw ratios and offsets. The distance that creates 100 inches on one model may not create 100 inches on another.
Mount the screen only after validating the vertical relationship
Mock up the screen rectangle with painter's tape if necessary. Confirm that the image bottom will clear the cabinet and soundbar while the top stays below the ceiling or architectural features.

Why is UST projector alignment so sensitive?
The projector sits close to the screen and sends light upward at a steep angle, so small projector movements can create large changes at the image edges.
Should I use keystone correction?
Use physical alignment first. Digital geometry correction is best treated as a finishing tool rather than a substitute for centering and leveling the projector.
Does screen flatness matter more with UST?
Yes. Surface waves or frame distortion can bend the projected geometry because of the steep projection angle.
